Smart Grid in China

Wednesday, May 18, 2011, 8:30am-9:30am San Francisco / 11:30am-12:30am New York / 5:30pm-6:30pm Paris and Frankfurt

Smart Grid

In an effort to manage the country's growing demand for energy, China’s state-owned State Grid Company of China has set an ambitious target of building a robust smart grid by 2020 with plans to invest nearly $600 billion over the next decade. This impressive goal stands to position China as the global leader in smart grid infrastructure and integration.

But navigating the China smart grid market can be complicated and challenging for international solutions providers. In this online meeting, experts discuss the opportunities and obstacles involved with the smart grid in China, topics include:

  • What can the international community learn from China’s smart grid strategy?
  • What are the important considerations in developing partnerships? Or working with industry and standards groups?
  • What is the current state of smart grid pilot projects in China? What is the feasibility for broader deployment of smart grid solutions?

Speakers:

JUCCCE (Joint US-China Collaboration on Clean Energy), ML Chan, Executive Director, Smart Grid
