Jigar Shah Discusses the China/U.S. Solar Debate: The Road to Resolution
April 19, 2012 8:30am-9:30am PST (San Francisco) / 11:30-12:30pm (New York) / 5:30-6:30pm (Paris/Frankfurt)
Join us as Jigar Shah discusses trade regulation of the solar PV manufacturing industry in China and its potential effect on the solar industry in the US.
Topics of discussion will include:
Should the US International Trade Commission/Department of Commerce (ITC/DOC) issue a tariff on China’s solar PV exports?
What are the positive and negative implications on the US solar market if China were issued a tariff for unfair trade practices?
How much reliance on unregulated solar markets should exist in the US? Is reliance unavoidable?
How is the global solar industry affected by economic trade with China?
We understand that this is a complicated issue with varying perspectives. However, we will be presenting one side of the debate for the purpose of beginning this conversation and stimulating discussion.
The Carbon War Room, Jigar Shah, Board Member, Former Chief Executive Officer
