Moving in the Right Direction: Reducing Environmental Impact in Transport

February 13th, 2014, 4.25 p.m. - 5.5 p.m.

Réunion à Paris

The idea of Europe is intrinsically linked to mobility. At the moment, however, the transportation sector is responsible for approximately a quarter of the Bloc’s greenhouse gas emissions. The goal is to reduce emissions by 60% by 2050 while still maintaining a competitive transport system that encourages mobility. To achieve all of this, new, smart ways will need to be developed for mobility around a city or between cities. What will the transport of tomorrow look like?

  • How is the electric vehicle market across Europe? How to encourage its development?
  • Multimodality: options to offer an efficient range of mobility for European citizens?
  • What are solutions to reduce emissions connected caused by freight transport?
