08:00 AM 09:00 AM - WELCOME COFFEE
(RE)BUILDING THE EUROPEAN ENERGY SYSTEM
09:00 AM 09:15 AM - OPENING KEYNOTE: POLICY CHALLENGES OF THE LOW-CARBON TRANSITION
09:15 AM 10:20 AM - TOWARDS A MORE RENEWABLE EUROPEAN ENERGY MIX : TECHNICAL CHALLENGES
The development of renewable energy is a key factor for the success of Europe’s energy transition. To significantly increase the share of renewables in the European mix, technological challenges will need to be addressed. These challenges include the breakthrough innovations that improve performance by sectors (solar, wind, etc..) as well as the management of intermittent adaptation via network (smart grid) and increased storage capacity.
10:35 AM 11:45 AM - NEW SOLUTIONS FOR FINANCING THE ENERGY TRANSITION
The development of production and consumption infrastructure for energy involves substantial investment. Whether it is for the development of renewable energy, home insulation or public transportation infrastructure, tens of billions of Euros will be necessary annually to allow significant reduction of energy consumption and greenhouse gas emissions.
11:45 AM 12:00 PM - AGRION DISRUPT 100+: FINANCING THE ENERGY TRANSITION
Changing Europe’s energy system requires a vast amount of investment. In this session, Agrion will present the top 25 startups who provide the investors with the tools to analyze data for better decisions, anticipate problems to resolve them proactively, and coordinate resources to operate effectively.
12:00 PM 01:00 PM - LUNCH
SMART CITIES AND THE FUTURE OF ENERGY USE
01:00 PM 01:15 PM - KEYNOTE ADDRESS: THE VISION OF THE EUROPEAN SMART CITY
01:15 PM 02:25 PM - FOCUSING ON LOCAL LEVEL SOLUTIONS : SMART CITY INITIATIVES
Though coordination between the national and EU levels is a fundamental prerequisite for a successful energy transition, a significant part of the solution is at the local level. This session will address emerging exciting prospects of digital technology for a more efficiency future of urban sustainability.
02:25 PM 02:40 PM - AGRION DISRUPT 100+: ENERGY IN SMART CITIES
The smarter cities of the future will drive sustainable economic growth. In this session, Agrion will present the top 25 startups who provide cities with digital technologies that will reduce emissions and enable greater urban sustainability.
03:00 PM 04:10 PM - CONSTRUCTING ENERGY EFFICIENCY : BUILDINGS FOR 2020 AND BEYOND
Buildings consume 40% of final energy and are responsible for 23% of greenhouse gas emissions. In the wake of the Directive on the energy performance of buildings in 2002, there have been major projects for new buildings that not only have low levels of consumption, but that now even have net positive energy. ICT and smart grids are also being revolutionised, creating new local level solutions for more efficient urban districts. These achievements are encouraging, but should not slow the progress of building renovations, which have considerable economic, environmental and social benefits.
04:10 PM 04:25 PM - AGRION DISRUPT 100+: SMART BUILDINGS
Innovative startups are shaking up the construction industry, with attractive and energy-efficient building designs, low-cost sensors and the concept of a digital energy monitoring platform. Agrion will present leading startups that provide building industries with brand new ideas and practical solutions.
04:25 PM 05:35 PM - MOVING IN THE RIGHT DIRECTION : REDUCING ENVIRONMENTAL IMPACT IN TRANSPORT
The idea of Europe is intrinsically linked to mobility. At the moment, however, the transportation sector is responsible for approximately a quarter of the Bloc’s greenhouse gas emissions. The goal is to reduce emissions by 60% by 2050 while still maintaining a competitive transport system that encourages mobility. To achieve all of this, new, smart ways will need to be developed for mobility around a city or between cities. What will the transport of tomorrow look like?
05:35 PM 05:50 PM - AGRION DISRUPT 100+: TRANSPORT
Groundbreaking startups are reshaping transportation. Whether it is new technology, real-time transportation information or a new system of consumption with a shared economy, the whole industry is constantly progressing. Agrion will convene the top 25 innovators that will break down barriers and transform the smart cities and transportation sector.
05:00 PM - COCKTAIL HOUR
