'Making the business case for sustainability', 'the ROI of sustainability', 'valuing sustainability efforts', etc... are challenges sustainability managers face when trying to communicate the value of their effort and convince their CFOs and shareholders that sustainability initiatives actually contribute to profits and create value for the company.
How can the benefits and results of sustainability initiatives be translated into quantifiable, dollar amounts that resonate with financial managers? Demonstrating the direct impacts of sustainability efforts is straightforward: using recycled materials to reduce materials put into a product contributes to reducing costs in the production cycle. However, valuing the indirect benefits of sustainability can be more complex. How can human rights policies, health and safety codes, employee diversity, community engagement or initiatives where the benefits or not directly apparent be quantified and valued?
During this interactive seminar, participants will gain insight into sustainability valuation methodologies and have the opportunity to exchange with each other and uncover the common challenges they face when “making the case" for sustainability at their businesses.
