This meeting will first provide a brief overview of the CPUC settlement with NRG, which requires NRG to build out a public charging infrastructure for electric vehicles (EVs) in California. This settlement requires NRG to do the following:
- Install 200 eVgo Public Freedom Station fast-charging sites at commercial and retail locations
- Investment in wiring for 10,000 level-2 make-ready electrical installations
- Investment in advanced BEV charging technology and BEV car-sharing programs
Our panel of experts will then address the following pertinent issues for public and private EV charging:
- Uncertainty regarding standards for EV fast charging
- Medium & heavy-duty Plug-in EV (PEV) access to public EVSE infrastructure
- Peak demand charges for Level 2 and fast charge EVSE
- Co-location of renewable energy generation and public EVSE
- What is the economic and practical feasibility of inductive (wireless) EV charging?
- Which mobile software applications are likely to be most helpful for EV drivers seeking convenient and available public charging stations along their route?
