Investment Solutions for Ecosystem Services - Perspectives from Practitioners
Donnerstag, 23. Februar 2012, 12:00 – 18:00 Uhr, Frankfurt
Without doubt, our ecosystems, biodiversity and natural resources are essential to the sustainable development of our societies. The annual value of services provided by nature is beyond price. However, financial capital is often deployed against natural capital, destroying the long-term sustainability of our environment, and therefore the foundation of our economy.
The question is how to design and apply investments that can deliver social, environmental and economic performance, and how to demonstrate that financial performance can be fully aligned with environmental stewardship.
The conference "Investment Solutions for Ecosystem Services - Perspectives from Practionners" will target investors (asset and portfolio managers, private equity, insurances, funds) and sustainability managers. It will discuss how market and financial mechanisms can be utilized to protect nature and use its resources wisely.
Companies who have been on the forefront developing projects that promote sustainable land-use will share their experience and discuss the benefits and obstacles when seeking to leverage investments that protect and restore ecosystems and their vital environmental functions.
