Energy-Saving Applications of Stainless Steel Bars & Wire in Construction
Thursday, June 7th, 2012, 8:00am-9:00am (San Francisco) / 11:00-12:00pm (New York) / 5:00-6:00pm (Paris/Frankfurt)
According to the International Energy Agency, the largest mitigation factor for climate change is a more efficient use of energy. Applications of stainless steel, especially bars and wires, improve efficiency in Architecture, Building and Construction. ISSF will demonstrate how stainless steel can be incorporated into construction to save energy:
- Directly by utilizing energy saving systems in new buildings
- Indirectly by increasing the life span and reducing the maintenance of existing buildings
A case study of a bridge rehabilitation using stainless steel reinforcing bar as an alternative to carbon steel will be presented.
